On Tuesday, November 25, Uzhgorod City and District Court invalidated the dismissal of ex-mayor of Uzhgorod, Party of Regions member Victor Pogorelov, that took place in February of 2014, and reinstated him on the position.
The resolution part of the decision in the long-lasting trial for Victor Pogorelov claim to Uzhgorod city council was announced by the City and District Court judge Alla Saray.
According to the court, the voting for the dismissal of the mayor, held in the City Council on February 24, was unlawful.
In addition to the immediate reinstatement of Pogorelov in the office, the City Council must idemnify the mayor for 73 hryvnia of court expenses.
