At today’s session of the Uzhgorod City Council they will consider the issue of privatization of 13.8 acres of land in the center beneath the "Uzhgorod" cinema. As a deputy of the city council Vasyl Hnatkiv wrote on his page in Facebook, "not only this issue has not been considered by the land or any (!) other committee, but also the price of 1 square meter of land is determined at 180 UAH (i.e. 31,000 U.S. dollars for 13.8 acres in the heart of the city!). Absurd and shame! This is probably what the city government proudly calls active search of revenue sources!". In addition, the deputy reminds, "we all know who really (through nominees) of the current city officials owns the "Uzhgorod" cinema. Mad rush, pettiness, and unbridled greed of the Uzhgorod mayor shocks again!…".
V.Hnatkiv promises to initiate deputy requests on all the questionable land issues to supervising and law enforcement authorities and is suprised by passivity and inertia of fellow deputies from other factions.
