"Uzhgorod Euromaidan filed claims to cancel decisions of Uzhgorod City Council dd. November 20, 2014 regarding the appointment of Bogdan Andriyiv as the Secretary of the Council, on the introduction of the additional post of the First Deputy Mayor for Ivan Voloshin, on appointment of deputy mayors and the administrator of the executive committee and on the composition of the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council.
Each member of the community of Uzhgorod was deprived of the right to participate in local governance and to have access to public information.
By failing to inform the public in time about the changes in the agenda, by depriving us the opportunity to make our criticisms and remarks, as well as the opportunity to express our opinion on the adoption of these decisions, the officials of the City Council grossly violated the norms of the Law "On Local Government in Ukraine" and the Law "On access to public information." The laws, that not only define the procedure of local governments, but also determine the principle of the government institution" – the group Uzhgorod Euromaidan in facebook informs.
