The Transcarpathian Regional Administration, Regional Council and Uzhgorod district state administration received another letter from Uzhgorod city hall where the city government asks the regional authorities to "comprehensively consider the allocation of land in the territory of Uzhgorod district to the ATO participants." They motivate the appeal with the fact that "there is no free land for this type of use in the territory of the city of Uzhgorod."
They inform that currently, Uzhgorod City Council has received over two hundred applications from the ATO participants and their families on the allocation of land for individual residential development. Actually, ever since Uzhgorod city government began to receive such appeals, they have been referring them to the RSA and Uzhgorod district authorities.
The head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Vasyl Hubal, commenting on these processes, said that if Uzhgorod government can not find free land in the city for these citizens, the regional government and its services are willing to help in that – to discuss the situation and to explore the possibilities together. He has offered to hold open discussions of the issue at the "round table", inviting representatives of the State Land Agency, as well as other people involved in the matter and the public. However, so far, the city government has not taken such a step.
The head of the RSA says: "Other districts and cities solve these issues. I urge Uzhgorod authorities to find ways and reserves to deal with this issue and to consider this topic at the next meeting of Uzhgorod City Council. And – to grant applications of families of the victims, and soldiers serving in the ATO area. They have a right to it."
