Our famous dancers – Studio of Contemporary Dance "Blitz" – won yet another award. The favourite Uzhgorod group received the Grand Prix of the World Modern Dance Championship, which finished this week in Italy.
World Dance Championship was held in Caorle tourist town that is 50 km from Venice. There were 5 nominations – jazz-modern, modern, contemporary, classic and neoclassic.
Dancer and teacher of "Blitz" Diana Danilovich says that they presented three acts in the contemporary category. All three dances got to the finals. By the way, in that category, "Blitz" competed with 36 teams – the best dancers in their countries from around the world.
Diana says – it was both interesting and nerve-wrecking, because the level of dancers at the world championship is very high.
"Blitz" won the Grand Prix for the dance "Nara" ("Inception"). Two other productions were also in the final, and, as they found out from the jury, the judges had hesitated between two dances – "Nara" and "5 minutes…" because both of them were decent, but they could not give Ukraine two prizes.
Now, inspired by the victory, "Blitz" are full of energy and open to new challenges. Now the team are preparing for the big children’s concert to be held on June 15, and, of course, continue their creative work. Although not so long ago "Blitz" presented the program "Ginger tea .." where there were many new productions, it is possible that soon there will be new surprises. In any case, the team are in the perfect mood for creativity. Of course, now our "Blitz" is officially recognized as the best in the world! We are proud and congratulate them!
