Uzhgorod. Beethoven sonatas. The second concert (Announcement)

Recently we have witnessed the start of a major new project by the soloist of Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, Honored Artist of Ukraine Etella Chupryk. Within 9 months, the pianist plans to play on our stage all 32 sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven. It is interesting that the author never thought of these pieces as a single cycle, but they are witnesses of the master’s creative evolution: from youthful enthusiasm and attempts to "storm heaven" (an expression of Beethoven) to deep philosophical thoughts and a halo of mystery that shrouds the late works of the composer.

November 10, the soloist of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, Honored Artist of Ukraine Etella CHUPRYK invites you to the second concert of the series "32 sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven."

The program of the concert includes:

Sonata number 2 in A major (written in 1796, one of the cycle of three sonatas dedicated to Joseph Haydn);

Sonata №17, in D minor (also called "Storm" made by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1802, which marked a turning point in the life of the composer. It was then, during the period of deepest despair and grief caused by progressive hearing disease, when Beethoven wrote his famous covenant);

Sonata №18, in E flat major (also made in 1802);

Sonata №24, F-sharp major (made in 1809, dedicated to the Countess Therese von Brunswick).

The concert starts at 18.30. The presenter Katerina KERECHANYN.
