Unused subsidies for Transcarpathians saved the state 123 million hryvnias

In Transcarpathia, 134 thousand households receive housing subsidies. Since the beginning of this year, more than UAH 800 million of assistance for housing and communal services has been granted to 120 thousand Transcarpathian families. This was told to the journalists by the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Welfare of the Regional State Administration Natalia Omelyanyuk.

According to the official, the total amount of subsidies unused by Transcarpathians this year is 123 million hryvnias, of which 118 million are subsidies for gas supply. These funds are returned to the state budget. Part of the unused subsidies – nearly UAH 25 million – remained on the accounts of 40 thousand Transcarpathians. These funds will be monetized, that is, the money will be transferred to personal accounts of the citizens. The average amount of the monetized funds payable to the recipient of the subsidy for electricity is 135 hryvnias, for gas supply – 548 hryvnias. According to Omelyanyuk, all Transcarpathians, who have the right to receive the saved funds, have been informed about this.

Specialists of the regional social welfare bodies are ensuring the allocation of subsidies for the next term automatically – without the applicants’ request.
