UNDP together with the EU implements the best practices of local development in cities of Ukraine

   Today, May 18, in the Regional Council, with the participation of the Chairman of the Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko, there was the signing of the Partnership Agreement between the UNDP and the City Council of Uzhgorod, which was signed by the Mayor Victor Pogorelov and witnessed by the Coordinator of the Transcarpoathian IPO Maria Yovbak.

 The agreement was signed as part of the new component of the EU / UNDP urban development project "Community Based Approach Local Development" (CBA) in Transcarpathian region.

        In Uzhgorod, under the new component of the CBA Project, organizations of local communities in partnership with local authorities and UNDP will be jointly solving issues of local development, promoting the establishment of "effective owner", disseminating methods of effective management and maintenance of apartment buildings.

          In our region, ​​Uzhgorod and Khust became partners of the EU / UNDP CBA Project under the urban development component.

        

This partnership, according to the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko, will promote introduction of best practices of community based approach to local development, introduction of modern methods and principles of municipal government, increase of energy efficiency in the residential sector

        Under the urban development component, the CBA plans to implement at least 300 microprojects, and to promote introduction of innovative practices in municipal management in 15 cities.

        

The project is funded by the European Union, co-funded and implemented by the UNDP.
