Ukrainians will not be able to get electronics from the USA by airmail

The United States Postal Service is stopping international transportation of goods containing lithium batteries. Termination date is May 16, 2012, reports AIN.ua citing the press service of the campaign.

In accordance with the rules that apply to the whole world, Ukrainians will not be able to get gadgets, booked in the U.S., by air, since it belongs to consumer electronics (e-books, smart phones, tablets).

This step was carried out by the service at the request of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Universal Postal Union, which require the prohibition of delivery of lithium batteries by air.

However, according to the press service, the campaign hopes that by January 2013 the rules will have changed for lithium batteries installed in personal electronic devices.
