Ukrainians complain to Europe about human rights and freedoms most frequently

Ukraine is one of five countries which the largest number of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights comes from. This was said in an interview to the Deutsche Welle by the head of the court Dean Spielmann.
In addition to Ukraine, the top five included Russia, Turkey, Romania and Poland.

In general, the European Court of Human Rights has accumulated more than 100,000 complaints.
President of the European Court stressed that when considering the complaints the Court disregards political circumstances, and is guided solely by legal considerations. Jurisdiction of the European Court is to monitor the performance of the commitments made by countries in the Council of Europe within the signed European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, said Spielmann.
