Ukrainian Tyachiv and Romanian Small Tyachiv will be united by the Danube Day

The Danube Day is a common pan-European event, which is celebrated annually in late June in 14 countries of the river basin under the auspices of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River. In Ukraine, this holiday is traditionally celebrated in Transcarpathia, where its largest tributary – the Tisa river – runs. This massive event has been held for 11 years in a row, and this year it will be held on July 1 in the city of Tyachiv.

The city for the event was chosen not randomly – this year, the Danube Day is planned to be held together with Romania, as in 2017, the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Romania is celebrated.  The city of Tyachiv is located on the Ukrainian-Romanian border: Small Tyachiv (Romania) and Tyachiv (Ukraine) are divided by the Tisa river, but will be united by by a joint celebration of the Danube Day-2017.
