Our compatriot chose a very "original" method of illegally transfer a concealed from the customs control large amount of currency in a jar with cocoa, which led to the compilation of the protocol and the seizure of 10,000 euro, together with the minivan.
On his way from Spain to Ukraine through the customs post "Tisa", one of the passengers who drove the minivan "Mercedes Benz", while passing through customs control stated in the declaration that he was carrying a small amount of currency and personal things.
However, customs officers decided to check the luggage compartment of the vehicle, namely the hand luggage of the Ukrainian. The inspectors found "extra" 10,000 euro, hidden from customs control. Inspectors were impressed by "ingenuity" of the man, who managed to hide the money into a rubber glove and put them into a plastic jar with cocoa powder.
For not providing the customs officers with the truthful data on the amount of currency and for hiding a large amount of currency from customs control on the basis of Part 1 of Article 352 of the Customs Code of Ukraine a protocol on violation of customs laws was compiled. Identified 10,000 euro, according to NBU rate it is over 105 000 hryvnia, and the minibus, which was used to carry the hidden currency, worth 125,000 hryvnia, have been seized till the court’s decision – said Victoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman for Chop Customs.
