Ukrainian tax authorities proposed to create a pan-European database of persons involved in criminal activity in the economy and taxation field. This information has been published on the official site of the department. According to proponents, this will allow law enforcement agencies of different countries to coordinate their activities during the financial investigations. This was stated by the First Deputy Chief of the tax police – the head of the tax police of STS of Ukraine Vasyl Koval, who represented Ukraine at the International conference on combating serious and organized tax crimes, which takes place in the Hague (Netherlands) at the headquarters of Europol.
Ukrainian delegation arrived at the conference with concrete proposals and initiatives to create a forum of heads of financial investigations and joint data banks, which will increase the effectiveness of international cooperation and provide opportunity to track the offenders.
