The Parliament voted for the rejection of the non-aligned status of Ukraine.
303 MPs voted for the decision.
MPs supported the bill of Poroshenko "On amending certain laws of Ukraine on Ukraine’s refusal to implement the policy of non-alignment" submitted by him on 18 of December.
"The aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the illegal annexation of ARC, waging the so-called "hybrid war" against our state, military intervention in eastern Ukraine, a permanent military, political, economic and informational pressure from Russia justify the need to find better guarantees of independence, sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Ukraine," – the memorandum to the bill states.
