‘Grain Ukraine’ has revised its May forecast for wheat production in the new season from about 2 million tons to 12.7 million tons. These figures are 43% less than the harvest in 2011. Change of the expectations is associated with a lower than expected yield.
As a result, Ukraine faces the lowest, compared to 2004, crop of wheat. The minimum harvest, we remind, was in 2003 – 3.6 million tons, while the lowest is 2.5 million hectares and 14.7 c/ha of productivity.
So far, according to Ministry of agriculture, as UBR informs, the productivity is 15.9 c / ha, which is twice lower than the previous year.
