As previously reported, recently border guards of the Chop detachment arrested 13 illegal immigrants from Syria, Iraq and Chechnya. However, during the holidays, Transcarpathian border guards caught not only illegal immigrants.
A Polish citizen heading through the checkpoint "Tisa" to Hungary was driving a car "AUDI" with a trailer. By the decision of border guards, the vehicle and the trailer were subjected to in-depth inspection, as a result of which, in the double bottom of the latter, border guards and customs officers found 6,270 packs of cigarettes. So, the cigarettes and the vehicle with the trailer were confiscated, their value is being established.
In another case, our countryman heading from Ukraine through the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" hid cigarettes in the bowels of the car "RENAULT" and tried to deliver them to Slovakia. In a specially made cache in the back of the car, in steps and the rear bumper, inspectors found 4252 packs of cigarettes. The cigarettes and the car were seized under the established procedure. The vehicle was assessed at 22,000 UAH, the value of cigarettes is being established.
