Two foreigners were detained yesterday at the border with Slovakia

Two cases of violation of the legislation on border issues were recorded yesterday by servicemen of the Chop detachment.

Yesterday morning, the district inspector from the "Velyky Berezny" department detained an unknown Asian man without any ID or permit for staying in Ukraine. The foreigner, who said that he was a citizen of India, was detected on the outskirts of Velyky Berezny near the border with Slovakia. The detainee explained that he studies at one of the local universities, but could not confirm this information with any documents. At the moment, the man is in the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. Once identified, he will be brought to administrative responsibility.

Another offender was arrested yesterday in the evening by border guards of the "Uzhgorod" department. Border guards received a message from Slovak colleagues that surveillance cameras recorded an unknown person moving in the direction of Ukraine. The border guards immediately sent the response teams from the nearest departmentts.

One and a half hour later, the stranger was detained. The man was found in the forest, where he was trying to hide from law enforcement. The detainee did not have any ID, but he said he was a citizen of North Korea. He said that for a long time he had been living in European countries until he was deported from Germany.

The foreigner was detained and taken to the temporary detention facility of the Chop border guard detachment, and after the court hearing for violation of the state border of Ukraine, he will be returned to Slovakia according to readmission procedure.
