Trees in Bozdosh were felled in vain – fan zone will be in Uzhgorod amphitheater

Today, May 16, a meeting of the executive committee of Uzhgorod city council, during which 27 issues were discussed, was held. Separately the matter of granting permission for equipment of Euro-2012 fun zone in Uzhgorod Amphitheatre was laid before the executive committee.

Interestingly, the permission from FIFA and the committee of preparation for Euro Championship was given to a well-known Uzhgorod hairdresser Edwin Kahn – he and his companion are going to undertake the arrangement of the fun-zone for their own money. The members of the executive committee Viktor Trikur and Margarita Moshchak reasonably asked why this very entrepreneur is taking up the arrangement of the fan zone, to which the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Vladimir Flenko replied that the license was given to the person who had paid for it and it is not too late for any other entrepreneur to submit their application.

Also, the members of the executive committee asked, why then the trees in the park Bozdosh had been cut, because back then it was said that the fan zone was to be arranged there. It turned out that the championship organizing committee first identified the site for the official fan zones, but then the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers cancelled those plans. That is, the trees in Bozdosh were cut down in vain – there will be no fan zones there. After a brief discussion, the members of the executive committee gave permission for the equipment of such recreation areas in the town’s amphitheater.
 uzhgorod.in decided to ask Edwin Kahn about the fan zone. The hairdresser confirmed that he had received a license and is preparing to the arrangement of so far the only fan zone in Uzhgorod. In the amphitheater, he said, had already been put benches and soon they will begin to set a huge screen for comfortable viewing of matches. The fan zone will start working on June 8. On its territory people will be able to buy football symbols as well as food and drinks. Entrance to the fan zone will cost 25 hryvnia.
