On 21-25 of June, 2017, the 25 International Wine Contest within the Bukkaljai Borfesztival took place in Hungary (Eger). It was attended by winemakers from Hungary, United States (California), France, Germany, Slovakia and Ukraine.
The international jury included well-known professional sommeliers from Europe who evaluated 277 samples of wine.
Ukraine was represented at the competition by the Chizay complex wine from the city of Beregovo in Transcarpathian region.
As a result of blind tasting in accordance with the European 100-point system, all Chizay wines won gold medals, and the vintage wine Troyanda Karpat won the Grand Prix – Great Gold.
For the first time in the 25 year history of the contest, all wines of one manufacturer won the highest awards.
On this occasion and in accordance with the decision of the sommeliers, the Chairman of the International Jury Imre Sent declared the Chizay complex wine the best winery in Europe in 2017, and the State Secretary of Hungary Andras Tallay presented a commemorative award.
