Transcarpathian vechornytsi are revived in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Transcarpathian vechornytsi took place with great success in the reading room of Uzhgorod Central District Library, the Visti Uzhgorodshchyny reported. Reviving an old tradition, the head of the CDL Valentyna Valiyeva invited famous amateur groups. They recreated the original feel of village gatherings, where mostly young people would communicate in a relaxed atmosphere, engage in various household activities (embroider, crack corn, nuts, etc.), sing songs and dance.

This time, hosts S.I.Kohut and V.V.Klochuryak presented guests with original theatrical compositions which combined Ukrainian, Ruthenian, Slovak and Hungarian traditions. An unforgettable atmosphere of Transcarpathian coziness was created by members of the ensemble "Arnica" of the District House of Culture (head – L.Dubenko), the folk group "Cholohan" of the Tyyhlash HC (M.Ihnats) and choreographic group "Our Family" (M.Ohrazanska) from Storozhnytsya.

Traditional meal added a special charm to the evening: funky, puffs, pastries with jam and poppy seeds, cornmeal baking and more.
