Transcarpathian regional forestry and hunting range adminsitration

Today, May 10, on the official site and on official pages in social networks, it was reported about serving of notice of suspicion to one of the deputy heads of the Transcarpathian regional forestry and hunting range adminsitration and the director of one of the local forestry farms that abused their official positions and caused more than UAH 2.6 million loss to the budget.

However, the information in the said report is misleading and is aimed at distracting the public from the real state of affairs.

First of all, it should be noted that in August 2016, the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region opened a criminal investigation into the alleged abuse of office by officials of the forestry and the administration. Namely, illegal felling within the territories and objects of the nature reserve fund.

In its turn, the Transcarpathian regional forestry and hunting range adminsitration together with the State Enterprise "Uzhgorod forestry" informs that sanitary measures in the territory of the "Uzhgorod forestry" in 2016 were conducted in accordance with the Sanitary Rules in the Forests of Ukraine.

According to Article 69 of the Forest Code of Ukraine, special use of forest resources in a dedicated forest area (felling) is carried out under a special permit – logging ticket or forest ticket.

The press service of the Transcarpathian regional forestry and hunting range adminsitration also informs that, during the pre-trial investigation, the prosecutor’s office appealed to the court requesting to recognize logging tickets invalid and cancel them. However, the decision of the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal was made in favor of the State Enterprise "Uzhgorod forestry", which confirms the validity of the logging tickets and sanitary measures in the above-mentioned territory.
