On May 29, bomb squad of the special-purpose emergency and rescue detachment removed and destroyed a mortar shell of 76 mm caliber from the time of World War II, which had been found in the village of Chervenyovo, Mukachevo district, by a local resident.
In total, since the beginning of 2019, 726 explosive objects from the past wars have been found and disposed of on the territory of Transcarpathian region.
Transcarpathian rescuers ask citizens to adhere to the rules of conduct when detecting explosive objects: do not approach a suspicious item, do not touch it and do not let others do so. All found suspicious items should be immediately reported to the competent authorities by phone "101" or "102" or to the body of local self-government.
Also do not throw, hit on, or bring the found ammunition home.
