Transcarpathian policemen are ready to take an oath! And… ask the people for support

Today is a historic day for the National Police of Ukraine. And of course, for the Transcarpathian. Because the most western patrol police department officially starts working – Transcarpathian policemen will take an oath.

It will take place at noon on Narodna Square, and in the morning there was a rehearsal. Social activist Yulia Dub, who joined the patrol police, shares her emotions and experiences of training.

"8 hard, but very exciting weeks of training are over. 8 weeks of meeting new friends, acquirement of new knowledge, new skills. 8 weeks of hopes that we can change ourselves and change ideas and approaches to the work of law enforcement and as a result, to change not just the system, but the way of thinking.

During these eight weeks, there were different emotions, different debates, different views on certain situations. During these eight weeks, I found true friends and like-minded people.

I remember myself that day when I decided to take part in the selection to the #New_police. No required physical training, no experience in this area, no professional knowledge, no skills. I think many students will recognize themselves…

Within eight weeks, they gave us the necessary foundation and the knowledge to take to the streets today and be able to adequately serve and protect. For this, I thank our teachers. You are great! And you will always be mentors for us.

Thanks to all the friends who were supporting and helping me, who were there for me and listened to my enthusiastic stories about training or emotional indignations about some injustice. You are the best.

Special thanks to my parents, because they are my heroes!) I am not an easy child, but they always support me. I know that you worry about me, but your support is invaluable.

Today, a new stage in our work begins. We will take the oath to the Ukrainian people and start patrolling. For most of us, it is a new and not an easy job, so we ask you to help us and be responsible citizens. I rely on my colleagues, but I rely even more on the people we will be meeting on the streets, because no reform can be one-sided.

I will be happy to see you today on Narodna square, at 13:00, at the solemn oath of the patrol police to Ukrainian people!".
