Transcarpathian police continue to fight against illegal gambling. The activities to identify and eradicate the illicit gambling in the region continue. These raids have repeatedly had good results. As in this case in Uzhgorod district.
Recently, officers of the regional department of criminal investigation, together with officers of Uzhgorod district police department, in the course of the raid, found a storage location of a large number of gambling devices.
Over one hundred illegal devices were stored in boxes of a car service center in the village of Baranyntsi in Uzhgorod district.
During the sanctioned search, the police found in the building and seized 110 "one-armed bandits".
Uzhgorod District Police investigators have opened criminal proceedings over this fact under Part 1 of Art.203-2 (illegal gambling) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for punishment in the form of fine of up to 50 thousand times the minimum tax-free income with confiscation of equipment.
Currently, the police are taking all appropriate measures to identify the tenant and other persons who may be involved in the incident. The pretrial investigation continues.
