Transcarpathian police do not know how many journalists have received permits for carrying weapons (document)

The regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not have information on the number of journalists in Transcarpathia that have received permits for carrying weapons over the past five years. This response was given to a journalist of the Uzhgorod.in to the relevant information request. The Acting Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Ya. Lebovych in his reply reported that there are no such records at the police.

Under current law, journalists have the right to buy traumatic weapons. To receive a permit for weapons from the police, a journalist must submitt editor’s request to the head of the MIA office and a copy of the journalist card. These documents are often sold nowadays.
