He was born in Turyi Remety, Perechyn district, in 1789. ⠀
When a foundry was opened in the village, the need for postal service emerged. ⠀
Postman Feketa became one of its central figures for years. ⠀
Villagers honored their postman and called him "the ambassador", because he walked up to sixty kilometers every day for 30 long years. ⠀
During one of the trips, the postman slipped and fell into cold water. Feketa died of pneumonia on March 18, 1839. ⠀
He was buried in the village cemetery next to a small church. But the memory of the legendary postman is alive.
