Last week, the orthopedic trauma surgeons or the region at the rugular meeting of the association discussed modern methods of treatment and reviewed complex clinical cases. Colleagues from Donetsk and Kharkiv shared with the Transcarpathian physicians their experience of diagnostics and treatment of complex diseases.
As the head of the Association of Transcarpathian orthopedic trauma surgeons Volodymyr Vajda noted, such narrow gatherings of doctors are held four times a year. At each meeting several important issues are considered.
This time at the conference special attention was paid to the methods of surgical treatment of complex fractures of the pelvis, Perthes disease (poor circulation in hip joint) and damage of the shoulder joint.
The famous surgeon, professor of traumatology, orthopedics and field surgery of Donetsk National Medical University, MD, professor Grygory Lobanov told about errors that occur in medical practice and about the most difficult cases in the treatment of unstable pelvic fractures.
The doctor said that in recent years the nature of most injuries has been changing. They become more and more complicated, involving multiple injuries, which greatly complicates both the treatment and rehabilitation process.
However, the application of new techniques now allows to put patients on their feet within a few weeks or even days. And it is this invaluable experience that Mr. Lobanov passed to Transcarpathian orthopedists. The renowned surgeon expressed hope that soon he would visit Uzhgorod to demonstrate new solutions in Ukrainian orthopedics.
