Transcarpathian Museum will be restored (PHOTOS)

Each year, Transcarpathian museum is visited by over hundred of thousands tourists. During the last six months, the castle has already been visited by about 60,000 tourists, which is the norm. The museum has already earned half a million hryvnias, one-third of which was spent on renovations of historic buildings. The department that currently requires the most attention is the department of nature, which is over 60 years old. The project of its reconstruction is already being developed.

Other rooms of the museum also require restoration. However, as the director of the Transcarpathian museum Vasyl Sheba noted, they can not repair the central building without state financial assistance.

Also at the museum, they began to develop the construction documents for installation of heating system which costs 4 million hryvnias. Vasyl Sheba says that the problem of heating in the castle is very serious.     Walls in the castle are made of stone and sometimes are 2-3 meters thick. It’s all laid on clay, which attracts moisture. Therefore, the temperature conditions do not meet the standards required for the museum.
