The Association of Ukrainian Cities announces a contest among regional mass media for the best coverage of the events of the nationwide campaign "Decentralization marathon."
The "Decentralization marathon" was launched on June 21 in Odesa during the XII Ukrainian Municipal Forum in the presence of nearly 250 heads of the communities from all regions of Ukraine. This nationwide campaign was initiated by the Association of Ukrainian Cities to enhance and stimulate the process of formation of capable communities.
The "Decentralization marathon" is a large-scale event, which covers all regions of Ukraine. During six months (from June to December 2016) about 1,000 outdoor events organized by the regional offices of the Association will be held in the communities. Regional advisers will inform about the benefits of decentralization, explain the processes and stages of association of communities, advise and help in preparation of the necessary documents and draft decisions. An important motivating incentive and factor of persuading in the benefits of capable communities formation will be the participation of the heads of the existing united local communities and their stories of life after unification.
The purpose of the Competition
To involve regional media in the process of promotion of decentralization reforms, coverage of the process of capable communities formation, dissemination of information about the life of communities after unification, their progress and development.
