Transcarpathian faithfuls learn Romanian (PHOTOS)

In Bila Tserkva village in Rakhiv district, a new Orthodox church was consecrated. It has been being erected for sponsors’s funds for four years, although the idea originated decades ago. However, the lack of a prior brought noble intentions to naught.

4 years ago, a Ukrainian Hennadiy Holubka was appointed as the Orthodox spiritual director of Bila Tserkva. He actively contributed to the attraction of necessary financial and ideological efforts for the construction of the temple in the village.

Learning Romanian – the language of the majority of local Orthodox congregation – was not the most difficult task for the Holy Father. Tools, methods and implementation of the idea to build a white temple filled the lives of the community led by their spiritual director.

And, on this Sunday, the crowded gathering, which was attended by Bishop Mark, Archbishop of Khust and Vynogradiv, confirmed: the Church of All Saints in Bila Tserkva has appeared. In the words of Bishop Mark, the new church will become the support of the Orthodox spirit, the light that will warm the Romanians living on both sides of the Tisa, because it can be seen by the residents of both countries – and Romania too.
