Yesterday, at the customs post "Kosyno" of the Transcarpathian customs office, an attempt of cigarette smuggling to the EU was prevented. Customs officers, together with border guards, didn’t let a citizen of Ukraine to illegal carry cigarettes across the customs border in a car a FORD CUSTOM with Ukrainian registration.
Arriving at the checkpoint, the citizen reported that he was not transporting any goods and items hidden from customs control. However, considering the risks and sending the car for in-depth inspection, the customs officers found 1065 packs of hidden cigarettes in the constructive cavities of the vehicle. The value of the cigarettes is to be established.
Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving tobacco products across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control. These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the report on violation of customs regulations have been made, the cigarettes and the vehicle were seized. The value of the car is more than UAH 414 thousand.
