Transcarpathian customs officers confiscated from a foreigner prohibited drugs

At the customs post "Vylok" of the Transcarpathian Customs, customs officers prevented import of a drug containing active substances that are included in the list of drugs and psychotropic substances and precursors.

A Hungarian national was traveling to Ukraine by a car BMW with Hungarian registration.

During customs control of the vehicle and the citizen’s belongings, customs officers found a foreign medicine, "Frontin", active substance "alprazolam", in the amount of 40 pills, that was not declared during oral questioning and not mentioned in the customs declaration. The medication was in the niche of the left front door. Access to it was not hindered.

It should be noted that the active substance "alprazolam" is included in the list of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and precursors restricted for circulation.

The citizen of Ukraine did not provide to the customs authority accurate information about the items being carried by him across the customs border and subject to mandatory declaration and restrictions for moving across the customs border of Ukraine.

These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Based on Art. 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report on violation of customs rules, the goods that constitute violation of customs rules were seized.
