Transcarpathian climber conquered Ararat and raised the flags of Ukraine and her native Mukachevo on the mountain

Iryna Halay, the first Ukrainian to conquer Everest in 2016, climbed to an altitude of 5,166 meters on August 13, conquering Mount Ararat, from where she posted a photo with the flag of Ukraine and the coat of arms of her hometown of Mukachevo.

"It was unforgettable! And how proud I am of my friends who stood with me that day at the top! For some of them, it was the first high mountain they will never forget!" – Iryna Halay wrote on her Facebook page.

Climber Iryna Halay became famous all over Ukraine after she became the first woman to raise the Ukrainian flag on the highest mountain peak in the world – Everest – in May 2016. Iryna’s ascent is confirmed by the certificate of China and the national register of records of Ukraine. In total, only 536 women on the planet have climbed to the highest point on Earth. It was for this achievement that the athlete received the award "For the development of Transcarpathia."
