Transcarpathian castle “Palanok” will undergo some changes

More exhibitions and museums are planned to be opened in the castle next year. This was reported on the page of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Transcarpathian region.
In particular, in a year, visitors will be able to find out about the foundry industry in Transcarpathia in the foundry museum. There are already many exhibits, including ancient scales, furnaces and many other cast iron products.
According to the director of the Mukachevo History Museum, Mykhailo Belekanych, this collection is already about 70% completed. By the next year, new exhibits will be added and the museum will be opened.
They also plan to widen the road leading to the castle. Now only 1 car can drive on it. In addition to the carriageway, pedestrian sidewalks will also be widened a bit and new safe railings will be installed. And the castle hill will be partially surrounded with a fence. Wooden pointed pillars used to be called palanok, hence the name of the fort. Of course, it is not possible to surround the whole castle with a palisade. But they plan to partially reconstruct the fence.
Also, the stone that was replaced with pavement in the lower castle will be used to pave the car parking located in the moat.
And in the future, for the convenience of tourists, a large parking lot with toilets and garbage bins will be arranged at the foot of the castle hill.
