Transcarpathian businessmen and scientists can join the program “Horizon 2020”

The press conference of the organizers of the seminar "Social challenges and digital technology: opportunities within the Horizon 2020 program. Innovation hub in the field of Internet of things" took place in Uzhgorod.

Ivan Kulchytsky,  the President of the "Agency of European Innovations", the coordinator of the program "Horizon 2020" for ICT said: "Our event consists of two parts – about the program "Horizon 2020" itself and about our consortium "Innovation hub in the field of Internet of things." In this context, there is an opportunity to find common ground with UzhNU scientists and with local Transcarpathian production facilities, medicine, agrosphere, etc. We also present the best practices of innovation activity."

I. Kulchytsky stressed that the aim of the seminar is to inform the local scientific and business communities about new opportunities, to build new partnerships and to decide where to move next, how to implement the project results in Transcarpathia.

Representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University also attended the press conference and expressed a desire to find common ground, opportunities for development of joint projects with potential Transcarpathian scientists. They are interested in developing cooperation in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, the Internet of things, more.

The vice-rector of UzhNU, Professor Miroslava Lendyel said: "In UzhNU, there is the NCP of the Program "Horizon 2020" – it is an achievement of the University scientists, who have been fruitfully and effectively working in this area for several years, they have experience, achievements, project results. By the way, a team of physicists from the University was involved in one of the consortia that received funding for their project under the program "Horizon 2020". I want to thank our scientists for it. We believe that cooperation with business in the field of innovation is very promising. This synergy is relevant now, and also it is the communication between academics, business and the government."
