With the introduction of visa-free regime, 30% increase in passenger and transport traffic through international checkpoints on the border is expected in Transcarpathia. Analysts made these forecasts based on the data of the migration service on issuance of biometric passports. Within a couple of weeks, the boom will be over, and the traffic will drop. Estimated steady increase in Transcarpathia is within 20%, the press secretary of the Chop border guard detachment Olena Trachuk said.
The Border Guard Service plans to engage volunteers and representatives of Frontex organization, who will be working on the border and consulting citizens standing in line on necessary documents to cross the border.
By the way, visa-free regime in Transcarpathia will be launched with the President Poroshenko, who plans to visit at least two checkpoints. Those are the checkpoints "Uzhgorod – V.Nemecke" and "M. Berezny – Ubl’a."
