Transcarpathian artist Yosyp Babynets will present an exhibition on the occasion of the anniversary

On Friday, February 8, Yosyp Babynets will present art lovers his creative works in the "Uzhgorod" gallery.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the artist.

Yosyp Babynets was born on February 8, 1934 in the village of Zarychovo on Perechyn district (Transcarpathia).

In 1953, he graduated from the Uzhgorod School of Applied Arts (department of painting), in 1967 – the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (Faculty of History and Theory of Fine Arts).

Since 1958, he has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Since 1970, he has participated in regional, all-Ukrainian and foreign exhibitions.

In 2008, the artist was awarded with the regional Yosyp Bokshay and Adalbert Erdelyi prize in the field of fine arts and crafts.

In 2018, Yosyp Babynets was granted the honorary title "Honored Artist of Ukraine".

The author’s works are kept in museum and private collections in Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Italy, France, Germany, etc.

The opening of the retrospective exhibition of paintings by Yosyp Babynets will be held at 16.00.

The exhibition will run until February 18.
