At the Committee of the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine, the second round of the competition of works nominated for the National Prize 2015 took place. Among this year’s nominees for the highest state award, Transcarpathia will be represented in the final by Honored Artist of Ukraine Taras Danilich.
As a result of the secret ballot, in the category of "Visual Arts", the Transcarpathian artist’s paintings from the series "My silver land" were admitted to the third round of the competition. Recall that the creative heritage of Taras Danilich was nominated for Shevchenko prize by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. His main rival in the final selection was Mykola Kompanets. The respectable jury selected to the third round his artistic cycle "Land of my fathers."
The third round of the competition is scheduled for February this year. At that time, they will discuss the works, decide on the candidates to be awarded the National Prize and submit relevant proposals to the President of Ukraine.
