Transcarpathia protects its traditions (PHOTOS)

 On May 28, the first congress-forum of Tarnscarpathian gastronomy took place in Uzhgorod. The event was attended by the best representatives of Transcarpathian cuisine from 12 districts of Transcarpathia, culinary experts and tourism experts.

The moderator of the event, tourism expert Fedir Shandor noted that this was a historic moment in the Transcarpathian gastronomy. Another reason for the congress was the desire to protect Transcarpathian cuisine and to prevent the "migration" of our traditional dishes to other regions. "Having lost our kitchen, we will lose 50-60% of tourists every year. We can not allow that," – Fedir Shandor said. According to the organizer Arsen Melkumian, the main aim of the event is to unite around a common cause like-minded patriots of the business and to work for the development of Transcarpathian cuisine in one direction.

During the discussions, the participants signed the memorandum of the forum. The participants declared the Recommended list of Transcarpathian cuisine dishes on menues. Finally, the participants agreed on the next meeting, during which thee will raise the issues relevant to Transcarpathian cuisine and try to solve them. The official part finished with joint planting of the "tree of friendship."
