Transcarpathia need 800 million for road repairs

This year, Transcarpathia needs UAH 800 million for road maintenance, however only 67 million has been allocated.

In the region, 150 km of roads urgently require overhaul, and at least 500 km require preventive maintenance. Over the last five years, only 2.9 km of roads in the region have undergone overhaul, and 15 km of roads have undergone preventive maintenance.

As of mid-June, Transcarpathian road builders "patched" 42% of national roads and 14% of local roads. During four months this year, road builders have used UAH 32 million.

In June, the regional administration appealed to the government asking to allocate additional UAH 150 million for road repairs in Transcarpathia. Transcarpathia has not yet received an answer.
