The population of Transcarpathia is short of liquefied gas. Special auctions for the sale of liquefied natural gas to the public have not been held since March.
The auction shall be conducted by the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC, which is now the only buyer of liquefied natural gas for domestic use in the region. Currently, the company sells gas for SE "Ivano-Frankivsk – Propane." Instead, Transcarpathians remain without gas. Now, 188 of 650 villages are still not gasified. In Rakhiv district, not a single village has gas supply system. Monthly, Transcarpathia needs at least 180 tons of liquefied gas.
In early September, the regional authorities appealed to the "Naftogaz Ukraine" and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on the critical situation with liquefied gas in the region.
