Transcarpathia is intensifying investment cooperation with a Hungarian region

The regional deputies approved the program for further active international cooperation with a Hungarian region. 

It provides for the intensification of investment cooperation, establishing business contacts and cooperation between businesses, promotion of more efficient use of existing tourist and recreational potential of the two regions, implementation of a number of cultural programs and more.

During the third plenary meeting of the fifth session of the Regional Council, the deputies adopted the decision "On approval of the Program of cooperation for 2017 between Transcarpathian Regional State Administration (Ukraine), Transcarpathian Regional Council (Ukraine) and the General Assembly of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary) region.

The Chairman of the Regional Council and the head of the Regional State Administration were recommended to appoint authorized representatives for the joint Advisory Committee for operational coordination of the cooperation and implementation of the program.

Transcarpathian Regional Administration within a month shall develop specific measures for the implementation of this Program and have them agreed with the Standing committee of the Regional Council on cross-border cooperation, tourism and recreation. And bodies of local government shall take part in the implementation of this Program.

As stated in the document, on September 23, 2016 in the city of Beregovo, the Program of cooperation for 2017 between Transcarpathian Regional State Administration (Ukraine), Transcarpathian Regional Council (Ukraine) and the General Assembly of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary) region was signed. The program is signed for the fourth time in pursuance of the Framework Agreement between the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the General Assembly of Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region on trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation dd. 24.06.2006

The program provides for specific measures and areas to be implemented during this period in order to address issues of common interest. In particular, it is the intensification of investment cooperation, establishment of business contacts and cooperation between business structures; promotion of efficient use of existing tourist and recreational potential of the two regions; holding a number of cultural events and more.

The document stipulates that the parties will contribute to the work of the Coordinating Council of representatives of regional development agencies of the two regions for the preparation and coordination of the priority projects supported by the European Union in the period of 2014-2020; pay particular attention to cooperation between enterprises and institutions engaged in water management, environmental protection and emergency situations existing in the two regions, primarily in the area of ​​prevention and protection from man-made disasters, improvement of water quality, water management and waste management; contribute to the successful implementation of the "Tisa" projects for the development of the both regions.

The Program will promote active participation of the parties in programs aimed at the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian cross-border cooperation, attraction of financial resources of the European Union.

So given the above, the deputies approved the Program of cooperation for 2017 between Transcarpathian Regional State Administration (Ukraine) Transcarpathian Regional Council (Ukraine) and the General Assembly of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary) region signed on September 23, 2016 in the city of Beregovo.
