Those and other issues were discussed yesterday by the acting head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksiy Hetmanenko and the Bishop of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese Milan Shashik.
"The situation is unusual and this is the first time we’ve had anything like it. But it is most important for us to prevent mass gathering of people and violation of the quarantine during the holiday. I informed the bishop that we are currently in talks with representatives of different denominations and law enforcement agencies about the remote celebration of Easter. For village residents, we suggest to consecrate Easter baskets near the houses. We are also considering the possibility of consecrating Easter right in the bakeries," – Oleksiy Hetmanenko wrote on Facebook.
Bishop Milan Shashik reported that Greek Catholic priests are conducting worship online. As for the consecration of Easter cakes, the bishop recommends performing this ceremony at home. Turn on online worship and sprinkle Easter cakes with holy water.
