Transcarpathia: bad weather persists; Irshava, Velyky Berezny, Perechyn and Uzhgorod districts are at the highest risk

Weather forecasters predict that today, May 23, heavy rains, sometimes heavy showers and hail will remain in the region.

During a thunderstorm, there may be strong squally wind of 15-20 m / s. Thus in the upper reaches of the rivers, the water level will increase by 0,3 – 0,6 m, in the middle reaches, high water content will remain, in the lower reaches of the Uzh river (the village of Zarichevo, the city of Uzhgorod), increase of water levels by 1-1.5 m is expected.

On the Tisa river, (the town of Vylok), the water level will increase by 2.5-3 m without water entering the floodplain. In the lower reaches of the Borzhava river, a high water level will remain, farmland in the villages of Zarichchya, Siltse, Kamyanske, V.Komyaty, M.Komyaty, and the road Shalanky – V.Komyaty will be flooded.

The most threatening situation may arise in the basin of the Borzhava river (Irshava, Vynogradiv districts) and the Uzh river (Velyky Berezny, Perechyn, Uzhgorod districts and the city of Uzhgorod)
