Traffic policemen of Transcarpathia for the sixth time have stopped the taxi driver, who was driving while intoxicated

On October 22 the traffic police launched the "Carrier Winter – 2012", a complex of preventive measures for passenger transport, – informed the Office of the Traffic Police of the MIA of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. 

In the course of these activities Transcarpathian traffic police in Uzhgorod at around half past ten in the morning stopped a car of one of the taxi services. The 42-year-old driver violently reacted to the fact that he had been stopped by the police and the inspectors noticed that the driver of the vehicle had obvious signs of intoxication. The medical examination confirmed the assumption of the inspectors. Of course, the further transportation of passengers in such a state was out of the question, the vehicle was placed on the impound lot.

The real surprise was, that the driver in question has been arrested for traffic violations 10 times and 5 (!) of them have been for driving while intoxicated. In one case (in 2007) he was deprived of driving license for two years, but that did not stop him …

To prevent tragic consequences Transcarpathian traffic police appeals to drivers who are engaged in transportation of passengers: do not expose yourself and people to danger, sometimes it can cost a man’s life! Dear passengers, if you have any doubts about sobriety of a driver immediately call the policemen or 102 – take care!
