According to the Order of Ministry of Internal Affairs dd. 16.07.2012 № 524, which amended the Regulations on the STS, police patrol cars have to drive on roads only with blue flashers enabled.
Earlier, the Regulations provided that the police patrol car should drive with enabled blue flashing lights only on suburban routes.
Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs number 524 also more accurately sets forth methods of patrolling. Thus, to prevent violations of traffic rules in the city traffic police are ordered to put patrol car in unsafe areas. Use of this patrolling method in the city is prohibited.
On foot patrolling is now prohibited outside the city – more precisely, on the roads of national importance (except for special actions).
This order also supplements the list of what traffic officers are prohibited to do. In particular, the authorities cannot evaluate the work of their subordinates by the number of protocols.
