World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims has been celebrated since 1993 on the initiative of representatives of the British charity fund for victims of accident "Road Peace". October 26, 2005 the UN General Assembly in its resolution urged to recognize the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims and celebrate it on the third Sunday of November.
According to the UN, the accident is the second common cause of death among youth 15-29 years of age worldwide, and the number of accidents is increasing every year. Every year over 1.3 million people in the world die on the roads, 50 million more people become injured or disabled.
The Traffic Police of Ukraine urges drivers on November 18, the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, to honor the dead by enabling low beams on cars while driving.
