Today, Uzhgorod residents were protesting near the destroyed Fundanych house (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Today, in Uzhgorod, on Olbracht street, near the historic Fundanych house, which was virtually razed to the ground this week, Uzhgorod residents gathered and protested against the destruction of cultural and historical heritage of the city.

Recall that a week ago, Uzhgorod residents began to sound the alarm: construction had started on the historic building with the oldest sign of Uzhgorod. But the City Council assured that it was just a reconstruction and that the facade would be preserved. However, on Wednesday, a significant part of the house was simply demolished

The protest was organized in social networks, people were asked to disseminate information about it under the hashtag #saveuzhgorod.

As seen from the photographs, shared by journalist Alla Hayatova, many concerned people came to save Uzhgorod. More than 170 people have signed the letter about the unacceptability of the destruction of the architectural and cultural heritage.
