Today, December 1 is National Day of Romania and Romanians from everywhere (PHOTOS)

Своє національне свято закарпатські румуни відзначили у всіх населених пунктах Тячівщини та Рахівщини, де компактно проживає ця національність.

Розпочався урочистий марафон у  селі Верхнє Водяне Рахівського району. Тут відкрили пам’ятник  Міхаю Дану, простому  селянину, який  у далекому 1918  брав участь удоленосних для румунів подіях.  

У селищі Солотвино, на Тячівщині,  відбулося урочисте зібрання за участі представників консульства, керівників   румунських національно-культурних організацій, місцевих органів влади, чисельних гостей з Румунії. Депутат румунського парламенту Корнелія  Негруц переконана,що  історична батьківщина повинна  більше уваги приділяти  тим, хто  незважаючи на  кордони, зумів зберегти мову,традиції та звичаї. Вона повідомила,що  у  бюджеті Румунії на 2014 рік передбаченні кошти на будівництво нового транспортного мосту  через Тису, що сприятиме поширенню співпраці Румунії та України.

Transcarpathian Romanians celebrated their national holiday in all settlements of Rakhiv and Tyachiv districts, densely inhabited by this nationality.

The festive marathon started in the village of Verkhnye Vodyane in Rakhiv district. Here, they unveiled a monument to Mihai Dan, a simple peasant, who back in 1918 took part in crucial for Romanians events.  

In the village of Solotvyno in Tyachiv district, there was the grand assembly with representatives of the Consulate, heads of the Romanian national cultural organizations, local authorities, numerous guests from Romania. Deputy in the Romanian Parliament Cornelia Nehruts is convinced that the historical homeland should pay more attention to those who have managed to preserve their language, traditions and customs abroad. She said that Romania’s budget for 2014 provides for funds for building of a new vehicle bridge over the Tisa, which will help promote cooperation between Romania and Ukraine.

Social events in Transcarpathia were held with the assistance of the Consulate General of Romania in Chernivtsi and personal involvement of the consul Eleonora Moldavan, who read out the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Korlatsyan and presented insignia to outstanding members of the Romanian community.

Artists from abroad also participated in the festive celebration, which traditionally takes place in Transcarpathia on the eve of the official Day of Romania. For some of them it was the first and unforgettable visit to our region.
