Three cases of meningococcal infection have been detected in Transcarpathia: one child died

This was reported by infectious diseases doctor Viktor Petrov on his page on Facebook.

All three cases were recorded in Velyky Berezny district. Unfortunately, one of the three children has died.

"The problem with the availability of vaccines in our region is more acute than ever and, for some reason, it has not been solved for several years. Poor medical care in the region, negligence of the government and some parents lead to such negative consequences, so I urge parents – do not neglect the health of your children .
The only effective remedy is preventive vaccination. I recommend to choose the vaccine with the highest content of serotypes. Overall, kids tolerate vaccination well. In rare cases, there may be fever, pain, redness and slight swelling at the injection site which comes off quickly. The meningitis vaccine can be given along with other vaccines," – the doctor advises.
